Run, Jump, Throw

Over the next four weeks Somerset is taking part in the Run Jump Throw programme. We have been having lots of fun learning the different skills associated with athletics. So far we have learnt the skills for hurdles, javelin, shot put and the long jump.

Fractions

For the last two weeks we have been learning about fractions.In these pictures we have been ordering fractions and finding fractions of a number. 

Ruma Ono Patia

We have been coming up with a new clapping sequence to get our attention.
We have looked on YouTube for ideas and then we put our own flavour on it.

The C in U-ROCK

This week in Ruma Ono we have been looking at the value of co-operation. We have discussed this as a class and what it means to be cooperative in all areas of the school and outside of the school. To show real cooperation we tried to complete a class sit up with our arms locked around each other.

Slip n Slide

Friday was the funniest day at school. After swimming we went on to he field  to go on the slip and slide. The first time I had a go it was freezing  because the hose squirted out cold water. It felt like I had ice all over me. I had goose bumps and my teeth was shuddering. I felt something hitting me on my back, I got up and I saw Mr Howard with the hose chasing Misty off the playground. I had one more turn with my friend Tahliyah, we both had soap in our eyes we couldn't see anything. I was screaming because it hurt so bad.

The Bucket Carry

 

 On Friday The Senior Team went to the pool for some team activities. This activity is called the bucket carry. What you have to do is move a bucket of water over your heads without trying to spill any and go as fast as you can. It was hard to hold the bucket over our heads. What made it hard was the fact that it was filled almost to the top with water. It funny when people got wet. Some people screamed!!!!
